Actually, I don't think that all churches are empty. I live in America and our church is rather large - it is not empty at all. I have gone to other churches and we had to stand because there were not enough pews (seats) available. I think if your church that you are attending is empty, I believe there is something wrong with the church itself - maybe it isn't offereing enough extra sprititual learning for the members so they go other places. In addition, I believe that churches in this age are not "as" busy as they used to years ago - because there are so many churches available. Everyone is just spread out now. If you look at the information below you will notice that there is not a decline in attendance of church goers. Also, you have to keep in mind that the # 1 selling book in the world for years (almost 60 years, I believe) has been the bible. Therefore I am not sure about the decline in Christians - I don't believe there is by the statistics that are given.

I really don't believe that churches are empty. Actually, I think that churches attendance across the nation is rising... I know that is not what you were wanting to hear, but I come from a church with 6,000 members and every year we gain at least 750 more!

Just to be clear about this; the Church is a group of believers that gather together to worship God.
It's in the Bible, Acts 17:24, NIV. "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands."
It doesn't matter if your at home, in the mall, at work, in your carpool, on vacation.
Matthew 18:20, TLB. "For where two or three gather together because they are mine, I will be right there among them."
I've learned more and prayed with people from all walks of life in most of the time is was not in a church building.
A church building is a place where we as believers can gather to worship God, to learn from others that have more knowledge and wisdom than ourselves, to share our gifts that God gave us for His glory, not our own. To praise God for all He has given us.
Ephesians 2:21, TLB. "We who believe are carefully joined together with Christ as parts of a beautiful, constantly growing temple for God."
II Timothy 4:2, NIV. "Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, encourage—with great patience and careful instruction."
Ephesians 4:12, TLB. "Why is it that He gives us these special abilities to do certain things best? It is that God's people will be equipped to do better work for Him, building up the Church, the body of Christ, to a position of strength and maturity."
The problem isn't the churches, it's the attitudes of the people that are going to church. We base our faith on how we feel and what we get by going to church. We are selfish, self-centered, double-minded and unwilling to change or let go of the things that create the sin in our lives.
I'm not saying that everyone is like that but, until we take a good look in the mirror at our true-self, and idenitfy the sin in our lives, we can't start experencing the fruits of the spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23, TLB. "When the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."
Why are churches empty? I don't know.
Maybe we should be asking...
Do you know Jesus? He knows you and He loves you. I would like to introduce you to HIm. Will you come to church with me Sunday?
I hope and pray these words touch your heart and mind and that the Holy Spirit lives inside you.
YBIC,
Carl

The churches are full in the places I can vouch for: Minneapolis, San Francisco, Chapel Hill, Saratoga Springs, Jamesburg, and everywhere I've been in Mexico.

Because attending a church would mean being reminded about living a straight , moral or holy life, which is quite hard for almost everybody because of the old sin nature.

The world culture says that to have faith in God means that you are stupid, and people do not like to be considered stupid.
Evolution plants a seed of doubt.
Much of the world have more than the bare necessity and are getting use to relying one man's ability and not on God's sufficiency.
These things and many others are working to turn people from God.

My Church is full every Sunday. The membership has increased substantially the last several years. Ministries are expanding and we are planning a large building expansion.

Because they are teaching Lies and doing some of the same things that wicked people do in the world, and they call themselves by big titles, but they commit every sin in the book. THEY DON'T TEACH WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE WORD, NOR DO THEY READ OR DO IT. ( Only when Its convenient to them).

Not in our town, the church always looks full.
Maybe there are so many Church's there are not enough people to fill them?
Some towns there are more churches then schools...
