I guess I am alone on this one.
The number of marriages failing is INDIRECTLY related to the illegal immigration issue. Money problems is one of the biggest things that break up marriages. Considering how illegals are stealing all of the jobs and keeping wages down, I can definitely see how they contribute to a high divorce rate.

Answer 1. No.
2. The instant gratification factor. People today do not want to work on anything. From the get go people are taught to do what makes you happy who cares if no one else likes it. Marriage is a work in progress and one needs to do things that they do not always like, and so does your partner, and since that is work and one should not have to work at being happy it must mean I need a divorce because you no longer make me happy.

I don't see they can be related. The reasons that marriages are failing is because most people are too selfish in what they want from a marriage. To make a marriage work, think of it as a good job,you have to come early and stay late to get ahead. You have to work at it and give it your best.It has to be your focus and you have to want it to work. You must be honest and have morals and ethics. You cant throw it away because of minor set backs. You must not cheat or lie.Marriage is not 50/50 Some days you wake up and its 70/30 or 90/10 but it depends on who needs more on any given day.It can be him or her it must not be set it stone as to who is the boss or who is the neediest. Its a working partnership and it takes mutual respect, self worth and honor to work.Ok mother will get off her soap box now...I don't see how that illegal aliens have in any way impacted on the failures of marriage here in the USA.Id be interested in others views and will be watching the answers.
I don't think it has anything to do with the catchall"family values",it has to do with do you value your family. I do not advocate anyone staying married just to say they are still married, long after all respect and hope is gone.
Love/marriage should never cause you physical pain .........,ever!

I doubt it. I think many times it's related to people being selfish (thinking only about themselves), cheating on their spouse (see #1) & money issues. I work with divorcing couples and I see this all the time.

The biggest cause is the 60's and 70's expressive influence. If it feels good do it. It's my right not yours that counts. Free love, why marry? Every family needing two income earners. The illegal immigration does cause problems and costs the tax payer money, but I don't think divorce is one of them.

NO, they are two totally separate issues. Failed marriage shows a decline in family values. Immigration has nothing to do with that.

I am anti illegal so you want see me taking their side in issues unless it is issues they are not involved with. I am taking their side in this one. In most cases Mexicans (who make up the largest group of illegal immigrants) hold marriage to be sacred more so than does US citizens. They place high family togetherness high on their priorities.
