I have a Kodak Easy Share camera and software for my pc. Suddenly yesterday all the photos in my Kodak file in "My Pictures" section have disappeared. When I open the Kodak software and try to open a photo I can't. It says that its been moved or renamed? (Which I have done neither.)
I also get this...C:/documents and settings/owner/mydocuments/my pictures/Kokak pictures/2005-03-07/000_0035.jpg
This is extremely devistating! I have my twins first 2 years of life on there and also my new baby daughters birth and her first 10 months. I'm afraid I have lost these memories forever. Can someone PLEASE help me recover these so I can put them on disc and relax? PLEASE HELP!

A system restore only resets your previous settings. It doesn't restore picture files or documents that were deleted.

Look if the files have turned up in the computer's trash can. If not, see if you can find them anywhere on your hard drive(s) with a Windows search (Hit the Start button, select Search, and search all hard drives for files that include 'jpg' in the file name.)

If nothing turns up, stop working the problem! You're probably still okay, but leave it to somebody you really trust with computer problems to take over.
When a file is deleted, the computer doesn't actually remove all the bits and bytes - it only erases the names of the files. That's to say that your picture files are probably still on the hard drive, even if Windows says otherwise. The more you save and delete other files in the mean time however, the bigger the risk that you DO delete your pictures.
There are specialized recovery software programs to deal with this. Get somebody on the case who has experience using these.

If worst comes to worst, there are even businesses that specialize in hard disk recovery, but these guys are very expensive (i.e. don't trust a some business that charges $50 - they're just as likely to muck things up.)

Best wishes!

Use a different program than easy share software. Use a microsoft uploader. And videos take a while to upload, be patient and be sure to have pleanty of batteries.

It seems you may have put them in a file folder somewhere so you may find them easily. That removes them from the Kadak folder. If you do that, you need to copy them to the folder instead of dragging and dropping. Look in "my documents" or maybe on your desktop for the folder. I say this because it happened to me.

Try system restore to the day before the problem started. Everything should be fine and back the way it was.
