I think you misunderstand the purpose of the adversary. He is doing your God's will. When he tested Lot, he was doing Jehovah's will. He tries because Jehovah wants him to try.
It's all part of the game called the ineffable plan.

Who says God will win your stupid bible? Even your funny book can't accurately forecast the results of events that have not yet occurred. Satan will have his day. Why you think Jesus has been so reluctant to return. After all no matter how hard you try to change the meaning of his words Jesus did say Surely I come quickly. Yea two thousand years quickly. He has been afraid Satan is going to kick his butt. Satan has been preparing all this time and this time he going to kick butt. Jesus has been setting back shivering like a little school girl hoping the teacher will intervene.

the more people satan can get to sin the more he can claim to God that he deserves to be the ruler of this world. Although satan has read the scriptures he will still try to stop Christ from coming by trying to block God's last day message, the Three angels Messages.

Good question. Satan has already lost...that is the irony of it. However, humans still have freedom of choice, we are given the awesome opportunity to worship our creator (or not). Satan is jealous of this because he used to have that freedom but his probitionary time is over and he chose poorly. His main objective is to separate us from a loving God. When he achieves this it appears as if he is trying to defeat God, but in reality he is only preventing humans from fellowship with God. We lose when he wins, God has already won.

He knows that? Where does it say that Satan knows God will win? God has explained what His plan in and how everything will work out , yes, but does Satan trust God? Think about it.... Jim

Satan wants to take as many people as he can with him.

Why does any despot try, knowling he is going to lose? No one ever said Satan was particularly smart...after all he managed to get tossed out of heaven. LEFTY

To make money from the believers. It's entertainment sort of like pro wrestling, except that the actors in pro wrestling aren't imaginary beings.
