I've been suffering from anxiety, and some irritability and wanted to know if I should ask my doctor for a zanax prescription....?
Any advice?
I defenetely do not want to go to a therapist.... I've talked to psychologists and that doesn't help.
Anything better than zanax without all the side effects that you may reccomend?

Any other advice?

Thanks to everyone-

I think you should do what the other people are writing as far as advice, and give your husband a BJ, it will make you feel better...

Sorry about your anxiety. I guess everyone has a little bit or a lot of it. I have been to a therapist too and they didn't help, but then I took an Abnormal Psych class, and was told that therapists are like shoes, you have to try on many before you find the right fit.

I would try other methods before Zanax, simply because it is a quick fix. Meditation, yoga, running (this does wonders AND you look frabulous), breathing exercises, etc.

I went through many bouts of anxiety. A lot of it was because of an ex-boyfriend. We broke up and POOF! anxiety gone. Try to figure out the root of your anxiety. After that, maybe altering it or eliminating it may eliminate the need for something like Zanax.

Good luck.

I take Zanax only for a quick fix if I am having an attack. It's pretty nasty and I dont like the way it makes me feel. I have only taken it like 3 times.
Maybe you should go to your Dr and get a long term medicine to help with your anxiety. i have been taking Lexapro and it has really worked wonders for me. I am a totally different person and my attacks are very far and few between.

Good Luck

Yoga, massage, anything but drugs which don't help do anything but put a bandaid on the real problems and cause more problems. So now, on top of your mental issues you will have health issues to deal with. AVOID these drugs. It's not worth it.

Xanax is for short term use only, go back to your Dr and get some other type of medicine for longer term. Xanax is a pretty nasty pill, best to find something else.

Consult your Dr. Buspar is a good one. I take 5 HTP that you get over the counter at walmart.

Run your *** off on a treadmill. That'll stop your anxiety. Believe me, your body will be to tired to bother. And take vitamins, sista soldier.
