Some like Buddhism actually seem to make the world a better more loving compassionate place.

Any one that sees it's self as the one true and only way to God only seems to make division and hate.

love and blessings Don

Religion makes the world a better place..we have been living for a long time. Religion gives us the start base of our individuality and we grow from there. But, religion should not be forced upon anyone nor should there be killings over it. What one strongly believes should be left at that-- and NO KILLINGS should occur because of this. If a spot in this world is thought to be religious for one -- should not cause quarrels to other religions that see the same spot as a religious spot for them as well. All religions are tree branches which lead to the same tree trunk-- to the same spot. So why fight? We are all going to the same spot- following different paths- some longer and some shorter.

I like God, I don't like religion. The idea of God is an inspiring thing to think about, feel or whatever. Religion?

Why do you suppose Jehovah witnesses want you to put christ (his teachings) at the center of your life. Might as well be putting a preprogrammed computer chip there. Think that is blasphemy? Well, of course you do. lol.

Why does the Catholic Church demand 10% of your income?

Why do all religions around today (not just monotheistic) want you to suspend your God given ability to direct your own actions.

Now that I think about it, why does science, too? I mean, science pretty much claims that you are not responsible for your own actions -- they are the product of your genes?

Does anyone smell a conspiracy?
Hey, is there a conspiracy section at Yahoo answers?

I think religion was needed in a time when science was in it's infancy. It helped people understand things they could never understand otherwise. Now the world is changing and humans are growing in knowledge and religion will no longer be needed.

The world would rule itself without religion.

I think it makes the world worse by creating "instant enemies". It teaches you that those who don't believe as you believe, are Gods enemies, now they are your enemies. Religion takes the values of life away.

Total waste of time.
People and the world would be better if the time was spent creating goods and services (not that kind) or improving themselves.
Hours wasted and nothing to show for it.
