Traditional Italians always "sauce" their pasta before serving and usually don't add additional sauce.
Personally, I love a good sauce and probably put too much on. I sauce the pasta sometimes and other times keep them separate depending on the type of sauce I am having.

Here is what I do...I season the water that I cook the pasta in. I use Garlic powder, Oregano, a lot of Basil, a pinch of Celery salt, fresh Ground Sea salt, fresh ground Black Pepper. I boil to al dente texture, (best test I have found is to take a piece and throw it on the wall, if it sticks, it's perfect. I drain in a collander with smaller holes than some and NEVER rinse. Before serving I drizzle a Tablespoon or so of Olive Oil and toss the pasta gently. Finally I serve the sauce on top. The pasta tastes wonderful on its own and if you truly love pasta the way I do, a few bites of pasta without sauce, in between the mixed is WONDERFUL. Then I store seperately, sometimes I just want a few bites of pasta the next day.

I mix a small amount (about 1/3C) of thinned out sauce into the warm pasta - just enough to keep it from sticking together, and give it some flavor. Then I serve the sauce on the side.

I mix the sauce in with the pasta a few minutes before I'm about to serve. It works well as I always make my own pasta sauce

I keep them separate, I found that when I mixed them up, the noodles got too soggy with sauce and just didn't taste as good.. And that way, you can add as much or as little sauce as you like!
I gotta get out of the food section, now I want korean rice balls and spagetti... what a combo....

mixing the spaguetti inside the sauce and cooking them for one or two mins in it will allow the sauce to be absorbed by the pasta and make them more tasty.
i always take the pasta out of the boiling water one or two mins before it is done and finish cooking it mixed in the sauce.

I top my pasta with sauce and extra parm. I use a knife and fork to mix it all up.
For leftovers I keep it separate just in case I want to freeze it later or make chicken parm. The leftover pasta can be reheated in boiling water for a few seconds.

Hi !!!
I always mix it in with the spaghetti so that the noodles can soak up a little bit of the flavor of the sauce while it is still warm.
