The popular answer is YES and that's what you'll get here as responses.

Truth of the matter is, NO. "Most" are not. Dealerships are a business like anything else and quite frankly some of the "Buy Here Pay Here" ones are probably the kind containing the undesirable traits that most people talk about

I'm one of three women working in my dealership and I can tell you that the men I work with are some of the kindest, most caring people I know. Sometimes people can forget that salesmen are people and have feelings too.

And contrary to what most people think - the average car salesman only makes $35-40K a year - and they work 50-60 hours a week! If they were really crooks they would find a way to make more $$ than that!

Usually it isn't the salesmen, it's the dealership! The dealership sets the rules for the sales staff to go by. However there are good sales people and bad ones. Many sales people don't follow through with their customers, and feel once they have been paid for the deal, they don't have to do anything. So if that is a crook, then some are. I have worked for many dealerships in different states, and I have come across some doozies!! They will yes you to death to get you to buy a vehicle, but once they are paid, they don't care if you are happy or not...don't return phone calls or keep in touch with their customers.

Just remember, with out car salesmen (or women) cars would all have bar codes then you would'nt get an ounce of discount. You dont get the chance to haggle over the price of a tin of corn at the check out!

No, not all, not even most of them, but some are, and you must always be careful.
