Sure...strep is a contagious disease.....not related to having tonsils.....now you cannot get tonsillitis without tonsils....but how obvious is that line.

Group B Strep can grow in your throat, regardless if you have tonsils or not. Not a good thing to have.

Strep throat is contagious bacterial infection caused by the streptococcus bacteria.Yes you can become infected with the tonsils removed,they can "harbor" the germs,but they are not the source. Take care. SW RNP

yes, very rare, but still possible - i had my tonsils out in 1996 and had strep throat about 5 times since, so rare, but possible & definitely not as bad as it usually would be

Know the asteroid wellhead tonsil stones them for many years and it's been title not eventually.

I still got it after my tonsils were out, but I had chronic problems with it throughout my teen years, but once I hit my 20's, it never came back.

Yes. You can get strep. pharyngitis, not tonsillitis. You can also get acute lymhadenitis involving your cervical lymph glands.
