It is the least likely of any religion to be considered a cult in my opinion.
Only the ones that see them selves as being the one true and only way to God are cults.
Buddhism does not see its self that way.

In religion and sociology, a cult is a cohesive group of people (sometimes a relatively small and recently founded religious movement, sometimes numbering in the hundreds of thousands) devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding culture or society considers to be far outside the mainstream, sometimes reaching the point of a taboo. Its separate status may come about either due to its novel belief system, its idiosyncratic practices, its perceived harmful effects on members, or because it opposes the interests of the mainstream culture. Other non-religious groups may also display cult-like characteristics.
In common usage, "cult" has a negative connotation, and is generally applied to a group by its opponents, for a variety of reasons. Understandably, most, if not all, groups that are called "cults" deny this label. Some anthropologists and sociologists studying cults have argued that no one yet has been able to define “cult” in a way that enables the term to identify only groups that have been claimed as problematic.
From the above,it can be concluded that Buddhism is not a cult.

You have to understand how to define a cult before we can figure out what a cult is to society.
Wikipedia defines cult as :In religion and sociology, a cult is a cohesive group of people (sometimes a relatively small and recently founded religious movement, sometimes numbering in the hundreds of thousands) devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding culture or society considers to be far outside the mainstream, sometimes reaching the point of a taboo. Its separate status may come about either due to its novel belief system, its idiosyncratic practices, its perceived harmful effects on members, or because it opposes the interests of the mainstream culture. Yeah, that's almost English.
There are "cults" of Buddhism. This is just a question of accurate terminology. I'm sure your "point" here is that the word "cult" has negative connotations, and you're trying to smear a religion different from your own. But all "cult" means is "a religious system." Any organized religion can be described as a cult.

one spiritual teacher said that a cult means where you "cultivate" something. Something with spiritual practices.
Whereas a religion would be something you believe i guess?
If that is the definition buddhism is definitely a cult. It is all about cultivation and very little about belief.

No, not any more than any of the surviving religions of today. Buddhism is much more of a philosophy anyway.
