wedding dress? So far I have lost over 300 pounds, and am losing about 35 pounds a month, I'm getting married June 30th. I have no idea how much weight I may lose by then, so I don't know when to start looking. Anyone have any ideas?

I'd like to lose 100 more pounds, and it will be a year in May that I had my surgery. So far I have lost over 300 in 8 months. But, I know the closer I get to my goal, the harder it is to lose, plus I am still in Physical Therapy and am gaining muscle and toning. I'm just ready to panic, because I have no idea where I'm going to be in sizes. And, like David's Bridal only goes to a 26, so I don't know if I can get into them yet. It doesn't help that I'm so short, only 5'1". Thanks for any help.

davids bridal can carry some nice dresses, but also check out alfred angelo. the dresses are AMAZING and run larger. find out how long it takes for a dress to come in, and talk to someone to see how long it would take to alter it. all in all, you want the altering finished one week before the wedding. look now for a design you like, that way all you have to do is pick the size and order it, and if need be, have it altered.

The only problem with choosing a dress that is too large is that you loose some of the detailing when you take it in. I would go into a bridal shop (or several of them) and look online to get an idea of what you like. Then talk to the people who work in the bridal shops and see how long it takes to get a dress in if you order it. Usually they do order dresses larger than you need just in case you gain weight. Explain your situation to the person helping you in the store. A very good friend of mine had a big scare when her dress didn't come in until the week before her wedding so I do understand why you are reluctant to wait. You may be better off choosing a dress from online. I've heard several David's Bridal horror stories. Congratulations on your weight loss and your engagement!

Go to a bridal store that isn't David's Bridal, and head to the Alfred Angelo dresses. They run much bigger than David's Bridal. Pick out and order your dress now. Wedding dresses always have to be altered, and the cost is the same whether they're taking it down 8 dress sizes or one inch. They can always make the dress smaller. If you think you still might need it bigger, order extra fabric when you order the dress, and the seamstress can make it work.

Talk with the seamstress at the shop and explain the situation to her. She'll tell you the absolute last possible time that you have your final fitting (about a week or two before the big day); after that date, you can't lose any more weight.

First off Congratulations on the weight loss. You may be down the extra 100 pounds by then.If you do happen to get the dress say next month, and loose more weight, you can get it altered.Tell the store that you purchase it from the situation. My daughter left her dress at the shop, and called the week before the wedding and went in to check the fit. They then were told the exact day and time she was going to pick up the dress for the wedding, they had it steamed and wrinkle free (the veil also) when she went to get it.They will work with you. Now,CONGRATULATIONS on the wedding...

I would focus on losing weight until april. Get into a size 26 and then start looking at davids bridal dresses. People can alter them fast.

EDITED:

I am only guessing here because you don't say how much you weigh now or what size you are. At the larger sizes it is ABOUT 20 pounds per size. Larger people tend not to get to their ideal and some people don't do as instructed and the bypass does not have its intended effected. Once you get to a size 14 then its about 12 pounds per size- and at my size 2-4 (115- 5'5") its 7-10 pounds per size

I used to run a bariatric clinic. So I'm very familiar with how dramatic the weight loss can be. I also just bought my wedding dress. I bought my dress at House of Brides in Chicago, and they are similar to David's but they are only in Chicago. I bought mine off the rack. They had a ton of dresses there ready to sell. I bought mine right then and there, beacuse It was off the rack they paid for it to get cleaned. It was ready two weeks later.

maximum of solutions... dude you're very youthful. do no longer say that "i'm a student so i don't get time for something". you have each and all the time. consume despite you want to. only circulate outdoors in night and play some outdoor video games. specifically soccer, Badminton, Cricket etc etc. Play as much as you may. Play soccer on a regular basis for an hour or 2 and you will see the diversities.

You should go dress shopping now to find something you like. If you do find something and it's a good deal, and it fits you, then get it. It's pretty easy to take a dress in, but a pain in the butt to take it out. How much more are you planning on loosing?

I would go gown shopping to get an idea on what you like, find out how long the process of fitting and altering will take, and than buy your dress to accomodate that window of opportunity. Congrats on your fantastic weight loss, and good luck on your pending nuptuals.
