Bad gas is a normal sign of maldigestion. Start adding a spoonful of plain,no sugar -no fruit yogurt to his food with each meal. The live culture(Probiotics) will add good bacteria to the digestive tract and do away with the gas. It may take a week or two for the full results to show. Good luck!

If you are feeding a high quality food and that's not the problem, try mixing a teaspoon full of yogurt(plain) into each meal. I own a very stinky bulldogge and it workswonders for her. Some breeds are just naturally smellier than others.

Do not give Pepto or any other meds. Just check your dog's diet. What is he/she eating? Do you give treats? People food? Is the gassiness a new thing or has the dog always been that way? How gassy is he/she?

My best suggestion is to call your vet. They can offer help easily on the phone for a problem like this one.

But, just so you know, all dogs fart. It's natural and normal, albeit unpleasant for us. My dogs fart all the time, but not abnormally.

What you put into your dog is what you're going to get out - in this case gas.

Check the ingrediants in your dog food. Make sure there are no by products or corn because they are hard to digest.

When an animal - including ourselves- get gas there is build up of bacteria in our small intestine because they are struggling to digest some kind of food. Thier "excrement" is what causes all the gas.

Good Luck

what breed is it? I believe that some breeds are just prone to this. I have a olde english bulldog, and I can tell you that it does not matter what I feed her, she wil ALWAYS have smelly gas.

call your veterinarian and ask him to suggest a different type of dog food that may take care of the problem.

check that link out - it explains 'why' dogs get gas from certain ingredients in thier food.

since i got so many thumbs down i called my veterinarian! he said it was either the dog's diet or something called impacted anal glands! he said to change the dog's food and if that doesnt help take it to the vet!

A cork? I kid...
Try this supplement called NuPro. www.nuprostore.com. It looks hokey as hell, but the stuff actually works! My vet approved it.
