The purpose of this debate is not to prove or disprove creation or evolution rather to discuss the data that both camps have and to show the weakness or strengths or either worldview.

This is very tiring. Been there, done that and done that and done that. If you really wanna debate, go to www.infidel.org and go to the forum. There are thousands willing to shred your argument to pieces. Be well versed in debating techniques and logic or you won't last but a minute. Also, if you are not someone with a science background, you're arguments won't be something you can backup. All the Creationists sites have been addressed and discredited so many times it's pathetic.

Remember, just finding something at the edge of Evolutionary theory that's wrong won't invalidate the theory. While Newtonian mechanics was overturned by Relativity and Quantum Mechanics, 98% of it is still perfectly accurate. To be completely accurate, Relativity and Quantum Mechanics augmented Newtonian Mechanics. Basic things are almost never overturned in science because they have just too much evidence to have been wrong. They require at least as much counter-evidence to do so - something you couldn't possibly have, given evolution literally has vast amounts of supporting evidence, often from completely disparate branches of science. Branches that really don't give a damn about biology or evolution.

ps There is nothing atheistic about evolution. I've known dozens of scientists who are devote Christians and accept evolution. The Catholic church accepts evolution as a way god could have created animals and man. Only the morons who believe the bible is literal would say such a thing.

pps If you have the balls to go to the evolution forum at Infidels.org, then I'd be very careful about most argument flaws.
They can spot a red herring, a circular logic, a bifurcation, and a Argumentum ad populum and an Argumentum ad ignorantiam flaw, before you completely get them out of your mouth. I've included a link to logic and common argument flaws, to help you prep.

Odd that you'd use atheist and evolution in the same sentence, especially when Pope John Paul the Great admitted that evolution was a fact.
You have no points to argue with. Carbon dating has proven the earth is more than 6,000 years old. So stick your stupid arguments up your nose.

OK. But you gotta use actual logic and not the argumentative loops that most of the scam artists use to get money from uneducated bible thumpers.

There's no such thing as an 'evolutionist'.

Do you "believe in the theory of" gravity?

Does this make you a gravitationist?

Oh, and not only atheists are allowed to study science - even christians are welcome.

Tell me why you belive in something that you cannot see, nor have any scientific proof that ever existed? Tell me why you believe in a book written in the 16th century by a king?
