Evolution does not prove that we were not created by God. It shows us that the Biblical version of events is, at best, a fanciful story which misses a whole lot of facts. Personally, I think the fact that we evolved rather than being created as-is says a lot more for us as a species. Think about it. In all of human history, for all our advancements, if we were divinely created, don't you think we'd have accomplished much more, and become much more civilized and less warlike and barbaric by now? But if we evolved, then how amazing is it that we've done so many wondrous things, and isn't it more comforting to think that we can only get better and better instead of just ... stopping when the world ends?

Actually, I can accept evolution as fact, whilst retaining my faith in God, and I know many other Christians who think the same. As for why some people ignore it, I think that is because they take everything in the bible literally (the creation of earth in a literal seven days), whereas I, along with many others, do not believe this is the way it is meant.
And it's not that humans evolved from apes, they shared a common ancestor.

Evolution does NOT claim that humans evolved from apes. Similarities in DNA suggest that humans and other primates (apes, chimps, gorillas, etc.) SHARED A COMMON ANCESTOR.
Evolution also does NOT address the ORIGIN of the universe, therefore it is not in conflict with the Book of Genesis.
EVERY species is still in the process of evolving. Evolution is a PROCESS, not a result. There ISN'T a 'finished product'.

Okay, I'm glad people pointed out the common ancestor thing was not an ape.
But let me just add, the evolution is a process, proof of that process existing doesn't prove the non-existence of a creator. For example: I'm a graphic designer, I make logos using Adobe Illustrator. Now in a million years if a scientists discovers a bunch of logos in this program (illustrator) do you think it would be right for them to assume the program itself made the logo, or to still consider the possibility of a graphic designer behind it?
Just something to think about.

What I don't understand is why there are not more humans coming from apes. If we evolved from them and that is how we came to be. Then why aren't there more evolving as we speak. It is like evolution just stopped. In that case, the theory of evolution cannot stand. It is constantly changing and improving itself in nature according to Darwin. Therefore we cannot be descendents of apes and what you believe needs to be rechecked.

Science has not proven that we evolved from apes or a single cell. Where is the proof? It is still a theory. Why are there no animals evolving into other species? Everything is still producing according "to their kind".

Look bro.
The being was neither an ape nor a human
it was a common ancestor.
Interestingly enough, Quran says God made apes out of men, as a form of punishment. Maybe the men of the ancient times were a different breed of creatures?

what proof is that again?
they have proven some aspects of evolution..but no direct link between humans and other forms of life..apes included has ever been established...just because we share simalarities with apes doesn't mean we had to evolve from them...why are there still lower life forms if everything evolves or goes extinct..personally I believe you evolved from an ape..but not me.My suggestion..keep evolving..your bound to get better.

Sorry man, but even scientists say we didn't evolve from monkeys. It's a common ancestor.
