Less than that will get you into the best that the Japanese manufacturers can offer: Acura RL, Infiniti M45 or Q45, Lexus LS (the 2007 model parallel-parks by itself!). You can never go wrong with any of these.

European manufacturers offer a little less reliable cars, but loaded with creature comforts and luxury. Your price range could afford you an Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, or Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Whichever you choose, make sure you compare prices on http://www.motobidia.com/index.asp before you buy. Motobidia.com offers a nationwide selection of late-model high-end used cars from dealer auctions, with free membership and free car shipping in the continental US. All vehicles listed have current bumper-to-bumper manufacturer warranty and free history reports.

Check out Lexus. They seem to have the best reputation for the money of anything out there for sale.

LEXUS LS 430 IS IN THAT RANGE. THERES BMW AND MERCEDES BENZ. AND AUDI ; YOU JUST WON'T GET THE RELIABLY WITH THOSE THREE--CARS ARE GREAT DRIVERS. THE LS 430 GIVES UP SOME DRIVING DYNAMIC OF THE GERMAN CARS. I THINK RELIABILITY IS WORTH GIVING THAT UP. ACURA RL IS MORE MID-SIZE IN THE INTERIOR BUT HAS AWD. IT HAS A GREAT INTERIOR AND GREAT RELIABILITY. FOR A LITTLE MORE SPORTY RIDE LOOK AT THE LEXUS GS 430.

For under $60K I think the BMW 5 Series is the answer. It always seems to win awards at this price point.
