My finches ate the 5 eggs they hatch
if you know please tell me why?
and what can I do to avoid it and have their babies?

It could be because they need the extra calcium. Female birds lose so much while laying and extra calcium has to be provided. (Cuttlebone, ground up eggshells etc)

all animal instinct is to kill their baby if they know they are not going to be born into a safe place with enought nutrition. half the eggs arent fertile when they are laid anyway. this is normal. you should get a nesting box for them. and feed them a high cal supplament with vitamins and minerals

they were not fertile
