There are lots of Stalls around Bangkok where you can get allsorts of DVDs.
If you are staying in a Good Hotel you will have or can get if you ask the Reception to hire one.
Buy one or 2 and remember where you got it from, That way you can test the Quality.
If its good you can go back and get some more otherwise try another Vender and do the same again.

Pantip Plaza, on the second floor next to food vendors, there are several booths selling dvds. How to buy is a bit odd for a first timer. They do not carry dvds in the booth. Piles of title copies (of movies)are displayed and each copy has a number. You select whichever you want and tell that number. You pay first and wait 10 to 30 minutes, then dvds will be delivered.

I purchased dvds 3 or 4 times there, quality was OK. no region-coded. Price is about B100 to 120 but I paid B90 each when purchased more than10 last November.

When I was living in Bangkok, I went to Sa Pan Lek (it's about 30 minutes drive from central Bangkok - if too much traffic jam then over 1 hour by car!) to buy all the copy DVDs. Just say to the taxi driver " bai Sa Pan Lek karp" which means "please go to Sa Pan Lek" Also remember the shop retailers will try to charge hefty price for DVDs to foreigners, so watch out. copy DVDs should cost you between 80 to 200 baht. (about US$2.00 to 5.00) depends on the quality of the DVD. don't buy from the first shop... shop around for the best price!!

If you go to Suan Luum Night Bazaar, you will find a few shops gathered at one end of the bazaar selling plenty of them, and pretty good quality too. At less than 200bahts each.

Best choice at present is Zeer Rangsit (near the old Don Muang Airport), I would say.-- And mind the country code!
