My 6 y old daughter lost her 1st two baby teeth AND the new teeth that grew in place are VERY CROOKED!,Do you know at what age she can get braces? Doesn't she have to loose the rest of her baby teeth first?

My 6 year old has the removable braces that she can wear to sleep. ask your pediatric dentist about this. It was uncomfortable to her at first but she has gotten used to it.

Be careful some orthodontists are putting braces on baby teeth and then doing it again when the permanent teeth come in. You end up paying twice as much. Some of my 10 year old daughters friends have had this done. My orthodontist is waiting until all of the permanent teeth come in first. But sometimes they recommend pulling baby teeth (we had this done) so a palette expander could be put in. My daughter will be ready for braces at about 11 or 12. Find a good orthodontist to advise you.

Well, dont worry about it, and also dont let her worry about it, braces are no big deal and if your really concerned you can go to an orthodontist and ask him/her. If they say to wait then wait. It is not always the case that she has to lose all her teeth before she gets braces. There are a few scenarios for that. The first one is that they will put the braces on for a short amount of time to jumpstart the treatment and then take em off and let the teeth fall out and then put them back on. The other scenario is that they will put them on and they will straighten her teeth in a short amount of time that they wont have to put them back on...
Hope this helps!

the teeth will be crooked the more teeth she looses and they grow back in they will all push together. so when all her adult teeth come in and they are still crooked, then you will get braces. you should be taking her to the dentist, and they will help out with that. good luck.

Most of them are crooked when they first come in. Her dentist will tell you if she needs the braces. All of my kids had the crooked teeth for a while and then straightened up.

we just came from the dentist for the same thing and he said he was not even worried about braces until my son was 9 or 10. he said at around 9 a child's grew so fast that their mouth would also grow and their teeth would shift.

Yes I do have experience with this due to the fact that I had to repeat the second grade for the same reason. I have dyslexia which means my brain is geared differently than most peoples.I have difficulties know right from left. I was fortunate to have a grandmother with a BA who retired from teaching the 2nd grade and spent a whole summer 3 months total tutoring me.Then I learned how to read.It was not the school that taught me. You have to sound out the words and think what does the e make the a say.Like you see in dictionary's with the bar above the word. He needs PATIENTS and more time than the school can give. It's not the schools fault it's uncle sams. Try your local community college and ask about a summer program to help with one on one reading.

All her adult teeth have to be in first. Children usually get braces at about 12 or 13. I'm sorry.

Let all the permanent tooth come out first so as not to waste money. Then when the permanent teeth came out already ask your dentist for that spray for the molar to make the teeth more stronger. Attend to her teeth so as not to stain her childhood with bad memories and for her to gain enough confidence.

I think they wait until age 10 or 11 because of those other baby teeth.
