Chinese food opt for anything like beef and broccoli,or chicken and some veggies.Leave the sauce full of fat and sugar.
Indian go for Tandoori chicken and some kind of veggie like Okra in a red sauce, stay away from anything creamy.

When going out there are a few things you should look out for.
Definitely avoid any fried foods and get the broiled or grilled version of those. Chances are this is relative to chicken for the most part and other meats.

You also want to make sure that if you're eating rice which is what many will do in a chinese restaurant that you ask for a small cup of brown rice.

Remember at restaurants the serving sizes are really not for 1 person but it's given to you anyway. Make sure you take home a doggy bag if anything and try not to clean your plate.

The simple fact that you're looking for a healthier option is a step in the right direction.

indians are ok as long as you go for boiled rice, and no sauces. I tend to have chicken tika and boiled rice. then have some of the veggie dishes too. steer clear of the breads and sauces you will be ok.
chinese are better, avoid the sweet and sours, and I tend to have noodles rather than rice.

in either case remember anything with chillis and spice is good as they increase your metabolism.
