How about a fruit smoothie made with all natural fruit and tofu? Fruit is a great option since it is a natural sweetness that kids love. If you have time to make breakfast or can plan ahead and freeze, create your own breakfast dishes (minus the sweet stuff). There are 1000's of recipes available online for ideas! While your at it, look up kids breakfast ideas as well! All natural peanutbutter on toast is another good breakfast treat. To give it a little variation, top it with bannanas. Also you could involve your 11 and 6 year old with breakfast choices that are healthy. Ask them to participate in making breakfast. It's a great way to get kids to eat and learn something new as well!

What? your kids don't like breakfast? Give them some cereal that isn't sweetened like corn flakes, cheerios, chex and add bananas or strawberries to it with a piece of wheat or whole grain toast. But really, the calories aren't in the cereal, it's the milk. Even sweetened cereals are about maybe 120-160 cals per serving, but that milk kicks it up a notch.... so try either 1 percent or skim milk... make them some healthy fruit shakes with lowfat milk or juice. Eggs are a great source of protein and you can cook an egg millions of ways.. I mean there's nothing to encourage. Sit their butts down and make them eat breakfast. But think about it too. Schools have free breakfast so maybe they eat at school I don't know. But that 11 year old should not be trying to turn down no breakfast. Breakfast is the important meal of the day. That's gonna be their gas for their brain and the rest of their body. Find a website where you can find nutritional ways to cook breakfast for children and they will have to like something. Ask them what they would like to eat for breakfast and meet them halfway. Because they gotta eat something even if it's some lucky charms. But if you don't start healthy habits early on in their lives then they're not gonna change to eat healthier with a snap of the finger. Good luck with that.

That is a very good question. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Maybe if you try and make it a family event, you all sit down together. I loved eating breakfast at my grandmothers house, there was yogurt, fruit, toast and a variety of cereals on the table and everyone helped themselves.

My daughter loves breakfast and is starving as soon as she wakes whereas my son can only take food about 1/2 hour after getting up. Make sure they're awake enough to eat. If you feel like cooking, French toast is always a hit (w/real maple syrup). If you don't feel like cooking, a healthy muffin goes well with milk. If it's summer where you are trying making fruit milkshakes w/yogurt and fresh milk.

I have two boys aged 6 and 1.
My 6year old has fruit, porridge, cereal or toast in the mornings.
My 1 year have either the same and they love it. I have to give then 15 mins before they eat as it takes them this long to wake up.
Just try different fruit or get them to choose between what even you want them to eat and then they should eat it.

Ask your children to write down ten breakfasts that they would sit down at the table for. Find a common denominator and away you go. Out of thirty choices there must be one they all like. Now pick the one that suits you. lol

Hi,
Check out this website - they have amazing ideas for healthy meal and snack ideas. I use the recipes from there all the time and my kids love them. I never have a problem getting them to eat breakfest - something other than Pop-Tarts that is!

Yoghurt or smoothies made by yourself from real fruit. or just fruit on its own. Cereals without sugar. Toast or eggs. There's plenty of stuff. Be inventive and make it fun.
