You use a quater teaspoon, possibly even less. It all depends on weather is it crushed or dried there is a difference... I always use this website if I have any conufsions on substitutions. It says
1 tablespoon fresh = 1 teaspoon dried, so... just under a quarter aought to do it, if you like rosemary, and the smell and taste it adds, then just add a quarter teaspoon, and you should be fine.

you use 3x as many fresh herbs than dried herbs. so if you needed 1 tsp of fresh you would use 1/3 of dried. not for rosemary that might work out a little different. Rosemary is a pretty powerful spice. I would start out with 1/4 and work up from there

You would use less of a dried herb than you would fresh. So in your case, 1/4 tsp of dried rosemary should be adequate. Be sure when using rosemary, to "crush" the leaves in your hand before adding it to your dish. This will bring out the essential oils in the dried product making it much tastier.

If a recipe calls for a certain amount of fresh herbs, substitute 1/3 of the amount of dried herbs.
You may also want to add the herbs earlier and/or cook them longer, because it will take longer to extract the flavor from dried herbs.

When using dried use less - dried herbs are more convent rated. Think - small is less. Of course when using Rosemary I'd probably go more because I LOVE rosemary! But it might overpower the dish for the normal person. Enjoy!

I believe you use half. I made a recipe recently that called for 1 teaspoon of fresh dill OR half teaspoon of dry. Hope this helps!

i believe it is half the amount because dry are more compact then fresh so before putting the dry herbs into food try crushing them a little with the side of a knife or something to help reawaken the dry herbs flavor it will cause the oils to pop again so it will be more like using fresh good luck
