Comparatively speaking (for that part of the country!) it's only just up the road - about twenty-two miles up the road.

As the crows fly about 11 miles and 20 minutes flight. As the cars go, about 22 miles and 35 minutes drive. Of course it depends on the time of day and time of year as to how long it takes to get there. Rush hours take longer, loads of traffic, and summertime it takes longer loads of very welcome tourists. Sunny Torquay is the `Mediterranean of England` with the sun and sea and palm trees. Exeter is the `flower of Devon` especially in the`Blooming Britain `contest. They are also building a complete new shopping centre mall in the town centre.
