My 5 year old black lab has been urinating quite frequently, usually once an hour. Normally she can go a few hours without going out. Her water bowl is always empty too. Other than that she is not behaving any differently. I was just curious if urinating frequently was a sign of pregnancy for dogs.

urinating will increase with a pregnancy because of the pressure on the bladder. BUT this increase could be a UTI (urinary tract infection) or diabetes. get her to a vet NOW. be responsible and get her spayed. especially if you can't watch and control her enough to even know if she's pregnant.

urinating frequently can be because puppies are putting pressure on the bladder, but it can also mean other things as well like bladder infections or many other things. drinking excessive amounts of water can be a sign of differant other factors also. diabetic dogs will drink excessive amounts, and there is other health factors (too many to mention) that can cause many differant things in dogs.
The best thing to do is take your dog into the vet and have a check up done and explain to the vet what is going on. It may be something very simple but can also be something that is serious.

Sounds like she needs to go to the vet. If you know for certain she isn't pregnant, then it might be an infection. This needs to be treated right away. Also, drinking more water than normal can be a sign of illness as well, and needs to be addressed by a vet.

Please, take her to the vet ASAP.

Did you breed her? Is she unspayed and you let her out unsupervised? If so, she may be pregnant or it maybe something serious. I dont know if it's the same for dogs but diabetes causes excessive thirst and urination.

Pregnancy does increase urinating, but if you're not completely sure that she is pregnant, then u really need to get that checked out. if she isnt pregnant, then there is probably an infection...so pregnant or not, please get her checked out by a vet!
hope this helps,
