I didn't work at all last year and curious to know if I can file for unearned income for my children. I received is child support for my children.

The two refundable credits are based on having income from a W2 (or 1099Misc).

Child support is not taxable and does not qualify for any of the credits.

Well, no, it's called the "Earned Income Credit" for a reason - it's given to people who have income from jobs, or "earned income".

No. It's actually called Earned Income Credit (EIC). If you don't have any earned income, you don't qualify.
Child support doesn't count as income. Sorry.

You can file for EIC..there is a maximum..no minimum
