You won't be getting a glib answer from me to this question, because it's one with which I've often struggled myself. One of several conclusions I've come to is that this present life is given to us as an opportunity to find God, and that those who are "blessed" with wealth and beauty tend to be distracted from that search by their perceived lack of need. Jesus told the story of Lazarus and the rich man to illustrate this principle (see Luke 16:19-31 in 1st link below).
I hope to come back here when I have more time to elaborate further, as I recently put together a message on "The Point of Pain" that I gave to my fellow faculty members. If your question is already closed by then, I can just email it to you.
Meanwhile, I hope you'll take the time to read the essay in the 2nd link below, because I think it's very good.

That question is probably one that people will be asking God when they get to heaven right after they ask for the reason why certain things happen. The Bible tells us that every good gift is from heaven, so if you can define a blessing as "good", then it is of the Lord's doing. If it is materialistic or a seen as something that promotes the arrogance of mankind, then it is more than likely a worldly benefit from the "prince of this world". I am not sure there can be a single answer for your question.

I use to feel this way and at times I still do. And there are some scriptures on this very thing. The way that I see it is that some have favor on there lives and some don't. And also not every gift or good thing comes from God. Satan takes care of his people as well. I think this is something I should pray about myself. Because with me it seems as if everytime something Good happens to me something bad is sure to follow and sometimes this make me feel as if God is angry with me or I don't know just pray about it.

People are blessed by how much they serve God. The ones who DO NOT serve God have their reward on this earth, and that is all the reward that they will EVER have. Read the Book of Ecclesiastes as this Book was written especially for man. If you would like more in depth study email me and I will be more then happy yo help you. It would take entirely too long in YA to answer your question.

I want to give answer in the light of ISLAM.
According to tha ISLAM. GOD has sent us here in world for the examination to choose among his human being that who is pious and who is not pious.
I mean if some one is rich that does not mean that GOD love him or if some one is poor and God hate him. There is exam for rich that how much of money he gives to the charity and how much he deposite in his bank for nothing eventually he is not goona take all with him.
The second exam for poor is to how much he bear that hardship and keep faith in God. It is not like that for example i m rich person and i love good because i m rich and all of sudden my bussiness go down and i become a poor and i say that now i dont love God. no its never like that. Keep remember only one thing that is This world is like a stage drama one day its has to be end and the audience God would give the reward to whom who did well in God's name. God also taught us all teachings and now its one's option to choose eveil or virtue.
So one who is fit mentally and physically he will be asked for his best health.., what he yield in the world.
and one who is not God will also ask him how much he kept faith in God or just said bla bla to God for his bad health.
this is only one minor example so conclusion is that
1-Its to examinised every body.
2-So that God could pick pious and eveil persons.
Its not God's requirements but he wanted to do so and believe me Its Done what ever he God says because nothing is impossible for him.
we must learn the things by others experience and thoes which are the teaching or God
Hope that will answered the question
Best Regards
Usman

Some things that happen to people in life are through their own making. We all have choices and are responsible for our own actions. Other things are just luck really. You just have to make the best of what you have and try and improve the areas of you're life you are not happy with.

Some people work hard and keep at it until they succeed. Others give up and quit or settle for a life of mediocrity.
God has nothing to do with success.

Do you really think that your god decides who to put with the Stevens family and who goes to the Smiths?
I think you're getting stork theory mixed up with your god delusion.
Isn't being alive enough? It didn't have to happen, you know. The odds against it were pretty great. You won the genetic lottery the day you were born, and life is short. Make the best of it.
Success has nothing to do with a god. It has everything to do with using your brain and learning from your mistakes.

Like a bank, Christianity and the level of blessings you receive depends on what & how much you invest. We are told to be good stewards of our souls and worldly possessions, thus the more you give... the more you recieve.

I caused my own debt, and it wasnt cause God done it. People cause there own problems. Now we are trying to get out of debt and we are getting closer, and God has helped us along the way.
