Possibly, because you may find the people far more reserved than those in Manchester. You don`t say how old your daughter is, but if she is at school there are opportunities for you to meet other mums if you get involved in the school activities etc. Your family are family whether you see them every day or once in ten years, so don`t worry there. I am sure that you are going to settle in well and start a new and maybe exciting chapter in your life. Good luck to both of you.

How can anyone honestly answer this without knowing you or your personal circumstances. Of course it will be a big upheaval and you will be well outside of your comfort zone for quite a while, but with family around you hopefully you will feel settled very soon. Godd luck anyway .

It may be hard to adapt, but at least you will have family around to help you adjust to new surroundings, if not a new lifestyle.
