I wanted to know which music you listened and which movies you watched during your french lessons at school.
For me, i don't understand why during my english lessons, I ALWAYS studied 'ironic' from Alanis Mauricette (i hate that singer) and i ALWAYS watched Mr Bean, 'Typical english humour' said my teachers ! I hate this program too !!!!
It lasted my firsts 6 years of english in France!!!
But you, do you remember anything about your french lessons ?
And sorry if there are some mistakes !

You had more interesting lessons that we did, by the sound of things! I studied a school course called "Tour de France" all about the Garnier family from Creteil who had exciting conversations like "C'est une chaise, maman?" "Non, Thierry, c'est un fauteuil" and "Une poire, Colette?" "Non merci, une pomme s'il te plait" - and although it's about 20 years ago that I did it, my sister and I still quote Tour De France at each other, the favourite being "C'est mauvais pour les dents", the responce being "Bof!" Yes - it was THAT exciting. I think even Alanis Morissette and Mr Bean have to be an improvement.

I remember we were a test class, our syllabus had much more speaking/listening than the normal O Level which was almost all reading/writing, and we were the worst class for that experiment ... we were for the most part fairly bright but had a complete tin ear for inflection and as for pronounciation it had more in common with the policeman in Allo Allo! Once our (French-Canadian) teacher put his head in his hands and waved a white hanky as a symbol of surrender after yet another monotonic stumbling reduced him to incoherence :)
