The name is pronounced Gia, just with a unique spelling...also very important if anyone can think of a middle name or two to go with that I'd really appreciate it. Last name would be Hogue (1 syllable pronounced hoge). Thanks guys!!!

Gia is a very pretty and unique name.
I am all for changing the spelling on names so they will be unique...but I don't know about Jihya...people are always gonna mispronounce it and misspell it.
It's up to you though and if you like it than it should not matter what anyone else thinks b/c it's your decision.
Here are some middle name ideas and congrats!!

Jihya Nicole
Jihya Danelle
Jihya Abigail
Jihya Gabrielle
Jihya Marie

I love the name Gia! What a cute, unique name. Easy to spell, easy to say, easy to remember. Please keep in mind that by the age of 8, your daughter will hate Jihya. She will have to correct every single person she meets on the pronunciation and spelling. My name is more common, but can be pronounced and spelled about 3 different ways. I ALWAYS have to spell it for people and I hate it. Half my mail comes mis-spelled :)

Another consideration is that extremely unique names can have an adverse affect on your job prospects.

The name sounds and looks very "ethnic" and although I know it is wrong, and I personally have never cared about names, just people, I know that some hiring managers refuse to interview people with unique/ethnic names. It sucks, but as a former recruiter who worked with 100's of hiring managers, I can tell you it happens.

But if you're set on Jihya, I like the sound of Marie as a middle name.

Good luck and congrats to you.

That's a unique way of spelling it, she might have a difficult time growing up with teachers and everyone trying to read it. It is a pretty name though. I think you should pair it with the middle name Marie.

Sounds so very similar to the Islamic word for Holy War.
"Jihad." I personally would stay away from it.
The rythm is nice though so you may want to try for something with a similar cadence.
