A short-term solution is Oil of Cloves which you can get from a pharmacist. Just dab the liquid over the affected area. In the meantime make a dental appointment to get it seen to.

Toothaches do not go away and can sometimes be treated without losing the tooth. If it is not sorted out then you can end up with the affected area speading to the blood supply!

Personally, I have no love of dentists (stems back to my childhood experiences) but I have found an excellent one and I do go regularly now. Don't forget you're not alone!

A great way to numb the pain when it's really bad is to soak a piece of cotton wool in strong alcohol like vodka and hold it on the area. It numbs it really well.

Also are the painkillers you've been taking anti inflammatory? They're the best ones for toothache, eg. ibuprofen.

Hope that helps.

Clove oil helps but only briefly. Antibiotics, see your GP. Or a long piece of string and a trusty door handle ! Sorry....I sympathise....toothache has got to be one of the worst things ever !!!! Recurring abcess sufferer !

if its a wisdom tooth then i kno what its like i gotta hav 2 out in a couple of weeks, try nurofen or try to forget about it. Dont worry about havin the tooth out coz i hav had 3 teeth removed at the same time 2 wisdom and 1 incisor they will knock u out and then it will be fine afterwards the only thing is it will probably bleed for a while.

Clove oil is supposed to be good, you can buy it from the chemists.
It may be infected so you might need antibiotics- in certain circumstances they won't take the tooth out until the infection is gone so it's best to go back and check.

Get your self some clove oil, it doesn't taste nice but it's a natural way of relieving the pain. Rub it on to the affected area.

You can put oil of Cloves (clove oil) on the gum and it acts as a kind of anesthetic (but it smells like cloves!) Also, try Bonjella. I think clove oil is the better one though. I guess its available in Boots.....

clove oil from the chemist only just over a £1 to buy, you just paint in on the tooth sparingly as its very strong, tastes awful but really good.
hope this helps.
