My Giant Schnauzer is about 10 weeks old, at what age should I begin getting his coat cut, stripped, etc? He has been doing great with basic grooming but I was curious as to when to get an actual cut? He is a rough/german coat, not the thick american style..

hi im a professional groomer. you can start now slowly . please remember that if you want him to continue to be hand striped do not ever get his coat shaved its one or the other also hand striping can be pain full you might want to let them do it a series of sessions for the first time.

are you going to show him in the breed ring? then you need to find some one that had strips now. if not being showen then you can have him clipped by a groomer. the person that hand strips is usulay also a person that show that type in the breed ring. is you want to do the stripping your self then them show you how.
