I am red haired and can be short tempered but is it because of my red hair or the fact that I am a taurean? or that I have celtic roots... I think its a person to person thing - bet you get short tempered at times.

Because its the couler of fire, but i only had red hair for one day, when i was born i had bright red hair and it faided to blonde, i do have a bit of a short temper, mayby its gods way of saying how you are on the inside is shown on the outside?

They don't..it is superstition only! They used to call them 'flame haired' and to match a 'fiery temper'. Reality is that if you count how often a person (regardless of hair colour) has a tantrum they would all be the same!!! It's not down to the hair...it's down to the person!

actually, you have uneducated people answering your question.
studies have been done to show that NATURAL red heads do have a shorter temper (the 'fuse' is short, but a small 'bang').
they also have a higher threshold of pain! go figure?!

I always wondered this. But in reality, I think it is just a stereotype and because they are red headed people accept thier anger more and so they do nothing to change their behavior. Its almost like it is expected!

although they are called fire tempered, but i have some red heads in the family and they aren't!
