Orange carrots contain high levels of betacarotene.

However, originally orange carrots weren't the only colour of carrot. There is evidence of purple veg suspected to be carrot dating back to 2000BC or even early. Romans grew up with purple and white carrots. It was the Dutch who bred an orange carrot that was commercially very successful, that led to carrots being almost exclusively orange.

A fat bloke in the pub told me they used to be purple and were modified by us to be orange for some reasson he couldn't remember.
I don't know how true this is as he told me all sorts and had drunk a lot of cheep lager

In the superstore, fruits are usually chosen far too soon. Some are rocks, many are bitter. Some of the fruit and vegetables are typical right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.

It’s because the Roots Collect more water and absorbs it much faster then orange leaves. and also the action of Photosynthesis is much faster than the orange leaves. May be xylem vessels carries hot water from the ground. If you can’t believe than you know it I guess.

carrots are root vegetables so they get many nutrients in the soil and oranges are on trees.alot of nitrogen is used by root plants for nitrogen fixation plants
