On Mac OSX you can just click, and drag the program application to trash. It's that simple.

Actually it's a little more than just dragging the application to the trash. The first thing of course is to do that. Then you need to use Spotlight and find all libraries and preferences for the program. Many of these can be found in Application Support section of Library (either in System or User folders). After pulling stuff out of there, run Spotlight again and see if there are any other residual files. You may also need to check for abreviations of the application as well.
One thing to consider - often when you upgrade a program, Mac OSX will either overwrite it or put it in the Trash for you.

Most mac programs are completely bundled. You should be able to simple drag the application to the trash and then empty it. If you installed it with from a .pkg file then that .pkg file should be able to assist you with an uninstall as well. Remember how you used CTRL + some other key all the time in Windows. Well on mac your friend is the key with the apple logo on it. That's the biggest difference between keys.
