Not inherently. There have been fundamentalist atheists (Enver Hoxha, for example), but atheism itself is not a form of fundamentalism.

There is activism within atheism if that's what you mean. Some are quite vocal. Fundamentalism? Well... if you consider the fact that everyone born is born without a belief in god there may be a bit of truth to that term. Adherence to basic principles is the definition of fundamentalism and being an atheist is a very basic principle.

However if you are trying to compare atheism with fundamentalist Christianity or Islam... you're way off.

I wouldn't think so as there is no part in it that says Atheism is the ONLY thing that is true and correct. Nor is there anything in that forces other people to believe in it. It something based of a combination of fact, observations and belief. When was the last time you heard about an atheist extreamist group??? never! They jus like to say what they think and leave the rest to you. It is you're choice and enforcement is not a doctrine.

No.
dont confuse PASSION with FUNDAMENTALISM
Alot of atheist are completly prepared to accept a miracle if its the only explanation (And they dont expect that to happen to soon, as we learn from experience). Fundamental christians wont believe even if scientist raised a man from the dead before their very eyes and knowledge of evolution helped that to happen

You can find Fundamental Atheist. But Atheism <> Fundamentalism

Your thought: feasible i think of yet could want some exploration. As for data in help of your thought, i latterly examine an editorial (regrettably i won't have the ability to discover the link) which claimed that regularly occurring Muslims are heavily inspired by using the anger of their new 'converts' who 'converted' after the fall down of communism in Russia (the U.S. on the time i've got faith). One small situation along with your thought is that your view "atheists or additionally adherents of alternative religions are an occasion to all that different existence varieties are no longer punished by using despite god in question" fails in that Muslims, Christians and Jews (and others) get punished the two in the international (and/or) whilst they die (in the afterlife) So it ought to wind up that Atheists are observed by using 'undesirable success' and that the 'god in question' quite does choose human beings whilst they die.

Only to those too small-minded to understand.
Atheism is the KNOWLEDGE not the belief, that god is imaginary. That is the difference between Atheism and religion. Religion has faith. Atheism has facts.
See the difference now?

Nope.

Fundamentalists believe whatever they believe (god hates fags, killing people gets you 72 virgins in heaven, blood transfusions are the devil's work, etc.) and they also insist that what they believe is what everybody should believe; that's why fundamentalists keep trying to get their beliefs enshrined in law (e.g., the repeated attempts to pass a no-gay-marriage amendment to the Constitution).

Atheists are fully aware that most people will not join them in rejecting belief in god or gods; but while they will fight to keep church and state separate, they will not insist -- for example -- that "There is no god" should be engraved on the currency.

No. Very few of us will say anything is 100% and we will change what we believe with new evidence. The problem is that there is absolutely no evidence for any god. That makes it easy to be pretty sure.
