i am trying to record media from my handycam onto cdrom with my computer through usb. and everytime i press record it tells me to "insert disk" and and i already have. Even on the box of the handycam tells me that a cdrom disc will record, ive tried to record it ontodvd disc. do i have a program missing or something ,plese help............

Shoot the video first. After you're done shooting, connect it to your computer and transfer the video (procedures are different depending on what kind of camera you have). Then, edit it (if you want), and export the movie. When you export, some programs will have an option of burning to disc, while others will only let you save onto the hard drive. In the second case, use a separate DVD authoring program to burn the video to disc (Nero, for example.) Hope this helps!

You have to import the video from your camcorder into an editing program before it can be recorded on to a CD.
