I am a fun loving person and my experiences in high school and college made me a person who loves practical jokes and dissing. jus for fun nothing personal and my girlfriend is not spared either. She hates this and as a result she is angry at me everyday and has spoilled fundays coz of this. i cant change coz I am addicted to this and i sometimes notice I dissed coz evryone would have laugh. I am so good i laugh at my own jokes. how can i convince my girl to understand? What can i do. She says I am childish. What do you guys think? convince me and i will go for a personality trait change therapy.

I sure wish my husband had a sense of humor, too. I'm like you, always making people laugh . He hates it, says I need too much attention. He makes me wish I picked a husband that has a sense of humor so I could be myself. Just remember that, if you can't be yourself, your not going to be happy with your relationship either.

A little joke is ok but it does not offer security and love to a girl. Life and love are somewhat serious affairs and there is no place for practical jokes. Fate also has a fine sense of humor and if u tempt it, it may play a practical joke or two, which could be quite nasty. We learned in school the story of the boy who shouted Wolf, to play a practical joke on the villagers, and when the real wolf came, and he shouted for help, none came to help, because he was a practical joker. U don't achieve anything, but loose much, including your credibility. If u are not careful, u may loose your girl, and fate will have the last laugh.

There is no such thing as "personality trait change therapy" so that won't happen.
Your girlfriend takes it personally so YOU DON'T DO IT. Period. I'm surprised she hasn't dumped you already. You treat women with respect. You seem to lack the maturity to know this.
So, you have two choices: Keep it up and she tells you "Bye bye, funny boy," or stop it and apologize.

Maybe you joke around too much. Sometimes it gets tiring for someone to always have a dis or a joke. Sometimes people don't want to hear it. They just want to have regular conversations and live life without someone making funny comments or etc.

Its a pain in the *** but an inherent part of relationships is making allowances to accomodate the other person.
I'm sure she has changed some of her actions to accomodate you. What things has she done for you? is it worth making your self "tame" for her?
You need to figure that out on your own.

You need a girl with a better sense of humor. I'm a lot like you personality-wise and I found a woman who thinks I'm funny.

It gets very old after a while.......and just because you say that you are "addicted" to it does not mean that you cannot change, People can change if they really want too or at least not involve her in your dissess it is called respect....

You can't change yourself for another person it is who you are, she should accept you for who you are and not what she wants you to be, keep that in mind , Love is not loving the perfect person but loving the imperfect person and completing their faults with love.

girls like it when they're bf make them feel beautiful , smart and all those good things.. by making her the butt of your jokes.. doesn't do very good for her self eestem..
start treating her like a princess..and i'm sure she'll stop bugging you and getting angry
