We went to the doctors already and I forgot to ask if his sickness is contagious and if it was alright to play with other kids.
Should he stay in bed all day?

His temp bounces from 101-103 degrees but the weird thing is he does have energy to play (if I let him, which I dont).
should I let him get up and play? and with other kids?

I wouldn't let him play with other kids right now. If not for their sake, then for his own. Something is going on with your son that his body feels the need to fight (thus the fever). The last thing he needs right now is playing around other kids who could just serve to make him sicker.
If you can keep your four year old in bed all day, you are one talented person! Do your best to keep him calm and quiet. Get your pjs on, throw in a Disney movie, hop into bed (on onto the couch) with some covers and watch movies with him all day. You'll get him calm, he'll be quiet, and he'll get to spend time with you. He'll feel better in no time!
Good luck and I hope your little one feels better soon.

No. That's high for a 4 year old. AT that temp he not only feels like laying around, but is also contagious to the other kids. I'm sure their parents would be unhappy if he did play with them and they got sick.

No, do not let him play with other children with a fever that high.. a fever is a sign that your body is fighting an infection. An infection can be contagious. I hope the doctor gave him some medicine to reduce the fever... try tylenol.

Probably not. Just think about how you would feel about an ill child playing with your son. Why risk it?
In bed all day? A four year old would have to be pretty darn sick to comply with that! Try to limit how much he exerts himself but basically let him set his own pace. When my daughter is very sick she mostly likes to lay on the couch and watch cartoons. She has brief moments where she plays but tires quickly.
Good luck and I hope he feels better soon!

I wouldn't let the sickie play with the others just yet. Although attempts to keep my sickies from my other kids never really works, we do not go to play dates, don't go to school, or have visitors.
I usually allow the sick child to lounge in the master bedroom, watch tv, nap in mom and dads bed during the day, but at night they're back in their own rooms. My youngest is sick now and he was very happy to have my tv to himself and access to the master bathroom for a therapeutic bubble bath!
Hope your little one is feeling better soon. I'm sure your nerves are almost shot so please remember to take care of you, too.

No. If he has a fever he is potential contagious. My son's school won't allow kids in school with fever because of that. I have a daughter who is very ill (is on a ventilator at home) and her doctor said to keep her away from anyone that has a fever. Best keep him away from others until you call the doctor to be safe

Any fever means that there is an infection. It is only responsible to keep him away from other children. That is why schools/daycares will not let you come back until you have been fever-free for 24 hours.
102 isn't too high for children, just keep alternating tylenol/motrin every couple of hours.
Good luck!

I wouldn't. You don't know if it's contagious and you wouldn't want to pass it on to the other children. Best if he stays in bed and rests, that will help break the temp sooner hopefully. Actually, I don't know any sane parent that would let your child play with theirs when he seems that ill.

ok first each and every infant has heard of the human centipede maximum of say that they have got watched it whilst they have been given freaked by using the trailer. that's not appropriate for a infant of 10 that's an 18 for a reason. And it ought to impact your infant's psychological wellness state and progression greater effective than you're able to think of. i does no longer advise absolutely everyone watch it no longer to show a 10 year previous

Let him play if he feels like it, but I wouldn't have him around other kids until you know if he's contagious. most childcare places won't take him if he has a fever anyway. Just wait and ask your doctor. Hope he's better quickly.
