Was her income under $3300 for 2006?

Did she live with you all year (1/1/06-12/31/06)?

Does your relationship not violate local law?

If you can answer "Yes" to all three above, you can probably claim her.

The only way you can claim her as a dependant is if you live together, she doesn't file any taxes and you claim her income. You must then file head of household.
Check out the IRS web site for more info.

Only if you adopt her or marry her. She has a job so she has to file her own taxes.
