If you have to use it,add heated milk to it instead of water, add salt and pepper to taste, add a few dollops of butter and some grated cheese. You could also add some finely chopped garlic.

there are better instant potatoes on the market now,,, you should try them ,,, they are the ones in the packets ,,,,but nothing beats a real mashed potato,,,,,
you could also try the ones that country crock puts out they are in the refrigerated part of the store

To spice any potato up, add some garlic (fresh, not powder) and any fresh herbs. I buy a multitude of fresh herbs.. they keep for weeks in your fridge. And I even grow some too.
