It depends.
Catholics believe suicide when committed in full knowledge and deliberate consent is a complete turning away from God (a mortal sin) and will send a person to hell.
There are 3 conditions of a mortal sin: grave matter, full knowledge, and deliberate consent.
While suicide (or any kind of murder) is always a grave matter, people who commit suicide may not always have full knowledge of what they're doing. Drugs can definitely impair one's thinking, as can other things, such as diseases, intense pain, or anguish.
Therefore, suicide is not automatically treated as a mortal sin.
We are commanded by Christ not to judge others so we leave final judgment to God who alone knows each person's heart.
With love in Christ.

The only definite answer I can tell you is that those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will go to heaven.
Here's an interesting thought King Saul took it upon himself to "fall upon his own sword" thus intentionally killing himself so that he would not fall in the hands of the uncircumcised. Does this mean Saul went to hell. I would disagree for there are different reasons why someone would choose to kill themselves.
Jesus was intentional about dying on the cross he allowed himself to die for the sake of others, even our sins. This is not legitimately "suicide" but his intentions were that we might be saved.
If someone gave their life for someone else (at war, in a burning house, etc.) this could be called suicide but their intentions were just.
"Taking the bullet" for someone else is a good example. Body guards do it everyday. Only God can judge what lies in the heart.

According to the Christian belief, Catholic and Orthodox for sure, if you commit suicide you go to hell. The explanation for this is simple. First of all, murder is a great sin. Second of all, in Christianity, repention is very important. You can repent for mostly all sins, murder included. But if you commit suicide you cannot repent, because you don't have the time. This is the religious approach

I am not sure about everyone motives in committing suicide. I personally feel that a Christian may be telling God that God is not capable of handling his life, whereby that would be a lack of trust and rejection and or denial of God's truth and power in their life, so perhaps that is the unforgivable sin in that case. But perhaps this is not always true. Some people are just so overwhelmed by something they aren't thinking logically or they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

I honestly don't know the answer to this for sure. I know that one of the commandments says "thou shalt not kill"..suicide is killing..and noone can ask forgiveness for their sin and then still go and do it..like suicide....and if you are dead you cannot repent.
About whether they go to "hell"..well only God knows.

Most modern religions teach that suicide is a mental illness and not a moral failing. It is not for humans to judge what motivates others to take their lives, only to help them so that such extreme remedies do not seem necessary to them.

I can't know the mind of God in this matter, but I do know that suicide is the MURDER of oneself. Though murder is a forgiveable sin, one hits a snag in this particualr case due to the fact that they're DEAD! how can a DEAD person get repentance for sin?

Only God can answer that. If you have pre-planned a suicide in your mind and/or doing it out of spite, I would say, yes. But, there are cases in which people are on medications. suffer from altheimers, dymensia (sp.?) and commit suicide without a full knowledge of what they are doing.

Only God judges, but i can tell you that:
God will wipe away tears -Isaiah 25:8 AND Revelation 7:17 AND Revelation 21:4
So If you can see what I am getting at, God will fix things at the judgment.
I hope this helps.

Short answer: yes.
Long answer: the soul that escapes this earthy life early, will have to sit in the spiritual plane, on the sidelines, watching what they should have done on earth, but unable to do it. If that's not hell, then I don't know what is.
