My friends is well past her butt. So no its not impossible trim your hair about a 1/4in every couple of months and it will keep the split ends away to keep it looking nice your hair will continue to grow even after your dead. On average hair grows about a 1/4 a month i want to say something else also, No matter what you apply topicaly (onto the hair or scalp) it wont grow faster. Hair is dead the moment it breaks through the skin (thats why it doesnt hurt when you cut it) so just be patient it will get there.

The right vitamins and minerals play a major role in keeping your hair healthy. Any nutritional deficiencies can lead to thinning hair or even total baldness.
It is a well known fact that an under active thyroid can result in frizzy or brittle hair while an overactive thyroid turn hair greasy and limp.
The bottom line to this thread is that your hair ultimately reflects the overall condition of your body. If your body is healthy and well nourished, your hair will be your shining glory.
If you are having any health problems or suffering from any nutritional deficiencies, your hair may stop growing or show damage.
If your body is in good health, you can maximize your genetic growth cycle through taking the proper blend of amino acids and B-vitamins.
It is also important to include B-6, biotin, Inositol and folic acid in the supplemental program. It has been found that certain minerals including magnesium, sulfur, silica and zinc are also very important toward maintaining healthy hair.
Beta-carotene is also essential to hair growth. This is because it is converted to vitamin A as the body needs it, helps maintain normal growth and bone development, protective sheathing around nerve fibers, as well as promoting healthy skin, hair and nails.
Beta-carotene is found in green and yellow vegetables and fruits.
Protein Is Important
Since hair is protein, a diet that is too low in protein may cause some thinning in hair or a retardation in the growth cycle. The converse is true, If you eat a protein-rich diet it will often result in improved hair growth.
Some nutritional experts suggest the dietary utilization of calves liver, brewer's yeast, wheat germ and a daily dose of two tablespoons of granulated lecithin to maximize hair growth, strength and beauty.
Other good food sources for protein include fish, eggs, beans and yogurt. Soy protein has also been found to be helpful in stimulating hair growth.
One study of the results of soy on the hair found that it not only strengthened the hair but caused it to grow. A great source of soy is tofu.

evrything you consume affects your hair...... food, medicines, etc.... on avearge your hair does grow about 1/4 an inch a month, in the drab winter months it seems to grow slower. split ends left unattended will just continue to split further up the hair shaft causing breakage and thining (which looks terrible). if you have thick hair then consider how heavy it is going to be at that length and prepare yourself for some major headaches. if it is thin/fine, than i wouldn't let it get that long because the ends will look even thinner. imho.

Get the end trimmed regularly (ever 8 - 10 weeks) and it will grow and grow as long as it's in reasonable condition. It will probably take at least 6 or 7 years to get to your waist though (or maybe more).

Stand in fromt of a mirror and look there is hair down there already.
Oh, I bet you mean.........It is not possible for some people to grow hair that long. Hair does fall out and for some it is enough to keep the hair from getting really long. For others it is quite possible to get it that long. It does take tyime and for some many y6ears.
You do have to take very good care of your hair. If you normaly seem to loose a lot of hair then forget it getting that long.

i read somehwer that everyone's hair has a natural teminate lenth, meaning a lenth that it won't get nay longer than. sine you've left it alone for 5 year, i'm assuming your hair has reached its. have you been getting it trimmed every 3 months? to grow your hair, you need to get it trimmed every 3 months or so to get rid of dead/split ends, which damage hair and prevent it from growing. you can take vitamins, and treat it with deep conditioners to help it stay healthy, and then maybe it will grow more. good luck!

taking the right vitamins and supplement in your daily diet would help hair growth, you also need to have head massage for proper blood circulation in the scalp:
