I just bought a beagle puppy and he wants to chew on the cats catnip toy, will this make him sick, ie: vomit, diarrhea?

I used to rub it on my dog to get the cat to play with him. He's fine still.
My dogs are always tearing up catnip toys and it hasn't affected any of them.

My little dog just got hold of a cat toy early this morning with catnip and ate the full amount of catnip and has been throwing up on and off small amounts of green and at times small amounts of yellow. It has also made her very logy which is understandable. I called my vet and he said that some dogs can eat catnip and not be bothered though it is advised that they not eat as much as my puppy got. The vet stated this throwing up might go on for a while yet. Hope this helps you.

I am not a vet; however the effect that catnip has on cats is due to the scent - not injesting the herb.
It is a herb, and a v. good one for tea. It calms. The amount in a nip toy will not hurt your little pup. But he could choke on it. So better safe than sorry, I suggest not leaving them lying around.

any thing that consist of feline, does not and should not have anything to do with dogs don't ever mix the two!
