To get to heaven yoou need to believe in Jesus Christ and confess Him as your Lord. What you believe about the after life will have no bearing on whether you get there or not.

I am assuming that your question is: "Do you have to believe in the next world before you die in order to get their?" Belief an the afterlife has nothing to do with salvation. It is what you believe as to how you get to that afterlife that matters. If you idea of the afterlife is heaven, then it is necessary to believe in the atoning grace of Jesus Christ at the cross. Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me." The way to heaven is through the cross of Christ. If your view of the afterlife is anything other than the Biblical heaven, then you need to do nothing. The decision that all humans should go to hell was made in the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve fell from grace. The decision was made at the cross that anybody who believed in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and that his death was atonement for the sin nature of humankind could go to heaven. It is belief in Jesus that matters.
