If humans weren't meant to eat animals, why are they made of meat?

Hmmmm...

I am confused because not eating non-veg is a double negative.

Let's assume that one of you is a vegetarian (non-carnivorous) because I am not even sure if it is your sister who is the assumed vegetarian or you. :-)

Mahatma Gandhi was a very wise man and he said a lot of things which people did agree with and should certainly still agree with today. He is considered to have been one of the few truly great wise men and was a great statesman as well.

He was a vegetarian. This is something which is very common in India and may, or may not have been his reason for being one.

Mahatma Gandhi's main philosophy was about non-violence. Perhaps in HIS case vegetarianism is about the sanctity of life of all living things. But perhaps it was also because it WAS his religion. He was born a Vaishya, business caste, Hindu.

For anyone following Mahatma Gandhi's teachings the principles are important. Vegetarianism is good if it is coupled with the REST of the Mahatma's teachings.

Vegetarianism on its OWN is not "saintly".

And vegetarianism must be "practiced" safely- it is CRUCIAL to eat not just vegetable but also pulses and get protein from non-animal sources. Tofu/bean curd is a brilliant substitute for meats.

So- it is correct if done correctly for the correct reasons.

:-)

Apparently blood type O requires animal proteins, though I am a vegan with type O blood... and I occasionally slip it. I HATE what the bible says about 'they shall have dominion over the earth and the animals' like humans are so special.

I am a Bible believer and in the Bible we are told that God created animals as food for us and to reject what has been given to us is an insult to God. 1 Timothy 4:4 "For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude..."

If God didn't want us to eat animals at all, then why did he make them so tasty?
It is a personal choice though.
