When girls say they want "tall guys" they mean taller than themselves. Its like a protection thing i think. Girls feel safer around bigger guys!

Typically it means taller than the average male considering that most men on average are already taller than most women. I would take into consideration the female that you are referencing. If she is tall to begin with, than she would want a man both taller than herself, and taller than the average male. If she is of average height or shorter, then I would say a man taller in comparison to other men.

i am a 5'2 1/2 woman and i like taller men and i dont mean the 5'7 i mean TALL
my ex is 6'7 and my love now is 6'5
i find i have always liked taller men it is very comforting to be in the arms of a very tall man for me and its nice to be picked up and bear hugged
i also drive a very large suv i feel much safer sitting up high and alot of hood infront of me
the big joke in our house is i am only with him cause he can reach the back of the washing machine for me and reach "up there" for me

we mean that the guy is just slightly taller than the girl cos it makes it seem a lil more romantic. but not too tall. maybe an inch taller. xxx
