Are you the maid of honor? If so a speech together like you said would probably be fun for everyone. However, if you are just a guest at the wedding, I'd let your husband make it alone.
Regardless, make sure the toast is about the bride and groom and not yourselves. Thats a huge mistake alot of honor attendants make, they day isnt about anyone but the bride and groom and the toasts should reflect that. And most importantly dont let him use your marriage as a reflection point for the speech. Maybe tell a cute story of their relationship together. Make the focus on the two of them. Remember you've had your day, let them have theirs.

Any chance of getting hold of their old school reports? Usually with a bit of imagination you could banter about them and comments could tie in as why they are together. EXAMPLE "Tommy cannot concentrate and is always fidgeting" "Mary prefers to work with her hands" Those just came off the top of my head and I know a bit naff but get the idea? Doesn't need to be real reports you could just completely make up.

You could have a joke on them , get a lot of used door keys , with out them knowing hand them round to all the ex /stroke girl friends really old if possible who are amoung those invited, telling them to stand up and return the keys when prompted by you, when you stand up ask can all the ex girl friend s, of the male please return the keys of his flat , the laugh will come from the really old ones getting up to give the keys back, for the lady you could hire a tramp costume to surprise her as a long lost love insisting on the return of his engagement ring

say something about how in the beginning of their relationship she asked:
Will you love me forever!!!
And he said:
Boy:
I couldn't take it any longer
Lord I was crazed
And when the feeling came upon me
Like a tidal wave
I started swearing to my god and on my mother's grave
That I would love you to the end of time
I swore that I would love you to the end of time!
So now I'm praying for the end of time
To hurry up and arrive
Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don't think that I can really survive
I'll never break my promise or forget my vow
But God only knows what I can do right now
I'm praying for the end of time
It's all that I can do
Praying for the end of time, so I can end my time with you!!!
Boy:
It was long ago and it was far away
and it was so much better than it is today
Girl:
It never felt so good
It never felt so right
And we were glowing like
A metal on the edge of a knife

You have plenty of time to think of something, hats off for organisation.
I just got drunk and made my speech up as I went along, my mates nan didn't look overly impressed with some of the stuff I was coming out with though, lol.
