well my friend you have to live with the speed you have, yahoo downloads the files on the run and there is no possibility of downloading the file on one go. Since you have limited speed of internet, a good idea would be to pick up a magazine such as pc quest or chip in india (and or any other pc magazine that is available in your locality), that has a CD with utilities in it.
you can also alternatively download a software called GAIM from http://gaim.sourceforge.net/win32/index.php which is just a 6.5 MB File, and this would take roughly about 1 hour 30 minutes, but I would suggest that you have a Download manager installed as in this time your connection may get disrupted.
But the safest bet here is to get the files downloaded by a friend who has broadband and you get them to your PC using a CDR or a thumbdrive.
Also ask around local computer clubs if they can be of help, otherwise, send me a mail with your address, and i can mail you a CD. :)

Have a check of your system with a good antispyware. Also test your connection with a site that provides Speed Test.
