Peace!
For Jews, Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses they follow the Old Testament teaching of Saturday or Sabbath as the day of rest. For Christians it is Sunday because Jesus rose on a Sunday.
However, passages of Scripture such as Acts20,7; 1 Corinthians 16,2; Colossians 2, 16-17; and Revelation 1, 10 indicate, that even during New Testament times, the Sabbath is no longer binding and that Christians are to worship on the Lord's Day, Sunday, instead.
The early Christians gathered on Sunday which they called the Lord's Day.
Letter of Barnabas
"We keep the eight day [Sunday] with joyfulness, the day also on which Jesus rose again from the dead" (Letter of Barnabas15:: 6-8 [A.D. 74]).
Ignatius of Antioch
"Those who were brought up in the ancient order of things [i.e. Jews] have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in observance of the Lord's day, on which also our life has sprung up again by him and by his death" (Letter to the Magnesians 8 [A.D. 110]).

Saturday is the Biblical Sabbath and for the Jews it was the seventh day. Whether God used the same days of the week as us when he blessed the Seventh day, He alone knows. But Jews and Seventh Day Adventists obviously believe he did, and they also believe that they are showing a greater love of God by keeping to the Biblical seventh day.
The Emperor Constantine is credited with changing the day of worship to Sunday, but this is not entirely true.; but he did make it the OFFICIAL day of worship throughout the Roman Empire. He also made Christianity the official religion throughout the Roman Empire, after he converted.
There is evidence to show that many people had already recognised and were observing the Sunday sabbathat that time, and were following this. He merely tidied things up.
There is also evidence in Acts of the Apostles (about 80 years after the death of Jesus) that the change had already started to take place, when it refers to the believers gathering to celebrate the 'Breaking of Bread' (Holy Communion, The Eucharist) on the first day of the week, (our Sunday). There is also a reference in the Book of Revelation to 'The Lord's Day.'

Those who claim that Saturday is the "day of rest" follow the seventh day which is the day that GOD rested in Genesis and the Israelites worshipped. They do not follow what the Original Christian Churches of the First Century met on according to the Pauline Letters. Generally they want to follow the Old Testament as well as the New Testament. Have a great day.

Saturday is the Sabbath for the Jewish religion which preceeded Christianity, Jesus was a Jew. After his death as Christianity started to grow the Roman emperor Constantine merged it with the current dominant Religion of Sun worship to avoid religious conflict. By merging the image of the Sun difinitively with that of God he also changed the day of rest to the current Roman day devoted to the Sun, Sunday.

The Sabbath day is the 7th day of the week. It was changed to Sunday by the Pagan Emporer Constantine when he made Christianity legal in Rome (He did not make it Rome's official religion... he merely made it legal and told them to get their crap together and determine which doctrines were going to represent the religion.) Wonderful political move, really... he got Christians to join his army so he could conquer other lands. Constantine worshipped Sol Invictus. He did not convert to Christianity, though there are reports he was baptized on his death bed - just in case.

Because they're stuck in the obsolete old laws of the old covenant, due to false teachers and equally faulty faith traditions, based on misinterpretations of what the Bible really says, and what the church has always taught.

Who cares what day you take off? Just take one day a week to rest up and do whatever you like...whatEVER you like as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. If everyone did that, what a pleasant world we would live in.
