With global warming, an increasing number of bands are selecting chilly names (e.g. Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Arctic Monkeys). In what way can they possibly think that this will help save the planet?

It can't. Bono from U2 is always banging on about the climate and poverty and yet, when he forgot to take his favourite hat on tour, he paid for it to be flown to him 1st class with it's own limo at either end. What a hypocrite.

Yes-and I'm also heartily sick of anyone in the public spotlight banging on about any issues which they think will further their career by striking some chord of empathy with the audience.
I am sick of their believing we want to listen to their patronising crap on topics they essentially know nothing about and what I see as an abuse of airtime or press space.
As to global warming it matters not one jot what anyone in Britain or indeed Europe does in the way of carbon emissions. For as long as China continues to build coal fired power stations at the rate they are we're pissing in the wind

Have you ever considered thinking? Pretentious Bands and Eco-Fascists deserve to be "bed-fellows".
