I'm here for a variety of reasons.

Each one has it's appeal.

But what brings me back over and over is the opportunity to see the actual substance behind the veneer of compassion, charity, love, and so on that so many religious people have as their public face.

It's an education.

I have certain rabid religious websites bookmarked for the same reason - to know what people are *actually* trying to accomplish, as opposed to the more benign public face they put on their actions.

I think it's important to know these things.

Secondarily I'm here to give guidence, when I can, to people seeking; to add my opinion and perspective to general questions about religion; and to clear up misconceptions where I can.

Mny things keep me coming back here, the interest and challenge of the different views expressed, and you can learn quite a bit by seriously studing the questions and answers, for example I see how a lot of Christians seem to think that they have God in their back pocket, and also that most so called Atheists are just angry young people who really mean no harm, but just don`t get the faith thing.

Jesus told up to go out and spread His Good News to the ends of the earth. I hope I am able to do this here. Like the sewer of the seed, I know that not all of the seeds will grow but even if one new seed germinates, one person gets help, it is worth the time.

I like seeing the proof that I made the right choice in rejecting christianity.

I like watching the christians tell me over and over again that Jesus rose from the dead and yet they cannot offer one shred of evidence that any other human (except Lazarus) was also raised from the dead.

I like watching christians tell me over and over again that bible is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, but then they fall silent when contradictions are pointed out because they have no other proof for their statements OTHER than the damn bible.

I like watching them squirm when they claim GOD answers prayer, but then they cannot offer any logical reason why not one single amputee has had a limb regenerated after years of prayer.

It confirms my beleif that they are brainwashed, my mother is brainwashed, and that I am so glad I had the courage to open my eyes, and to STOP being brainwashed.
